I tore my achilles tendon and calf muscles in karate four weeks ago...of all things, doing a front snap kick. I'm really unhappy about the way things are healing-really about the pace. And you're right about the endorphins, that's why I'm not sure if the rotten mood is the birth control pills or the lack of exercise. I'm also willing to give this one a really good chance because it's a lower dose than my previous pill, which can lead to mood changes and spotting (both of which I've had the pleasure of enjoying.) Why the NP didn't prescribe the low dose version of the pill I was on is beyond me, unless it's not on their formulary (the reason I switched pills last year in the first place.)
There is some bizarre hormonal connection between what point you're at in your menstrual cycle and being coordinated. It's one of the challenges of karate for me, too, although I've yet to be clocked in the face, I have taken some beautiful falls.
I need to stop overdoing things though...dragging myself in circles around the Mall and then cleaning my apartment was probably not the wisest thing to do.
I may just stay home tonight, me, my kitties and some crocheting or something. But I know I'm missing a workout and that's hard. I went to a dojo party a couple of weeks ago (after crutches) and it was just so hard to see everyone, and still be hobbling around.
