One of the side effects of the progestin in hormonal contraceptives can be dryness of mucous membranes, including vaginal dryness and lubrication problems, and the eyes. There's a certain group of related progestins that for me tend to cause my eyes (but no other mucous membranes, as evidenced by my runny nose) to dry out terribly.

The other thing some women have (and your oral contraceptive instruction packet probably has this in it somewhere) is that vision changes can be part of using oral contraceptives. If you notice your vision actually changing you should call your prescriber and your eye doctor asap.
