messyjessy I think, to do the "20 Random Facts About Me" meme. It's rainy, I'm not cooking up a storm, and I don't feel much like going out to do things like buy a birthday card for my nephew, while it's raining. So, what follows, is 20 random things about me.
1. My dream job would be to write a human interest type newspaper column, like the one in the local paper where I grew up, or Susan Cheever's column that I read when I was younger.
2. My other dream job is to be a Mom.
3. I consider the time I spent at Buck's Rock Camp to be a life-changing experience.
4. Right now, I really want a cup of tea.
5. I'm anxious to go back to school...I feel the need for intellectual stimulation, even if I'm not pursuing a degree, but simply taking classes for my own benefit.
6. I'd like to re-learn how to ride a bicycle, but I'm very much afraid of falling.
7.zedrikcayne and I are hoping to be able to raise bilingual children, by speaking both French and English at home.
8. I need hardcore refresher courses in French. I haven't used it in almost fifteen years.
9. Despite the fact that my husband writes console based video games for a living, the only console game in our house that I'll play is Tetris.
10. I don't think I would have been willing to consider changing my last name when I got married if Cayne's last name hadn't started with "G". I liked being EGG. I might have made an exception if his last name started with "S".
11. Somewhere in the not-quite year that I've been living with Cayne, I've slipped into mostly calling him by his real name, despite the fact that around he'd been Cayne to everyone we interacted with until about 18 months ago.
12. I found out Cayne's real name long before I ever used it because he handed me his wallet to pay for some lemonade.
13. When I was in grad school, we were told "If you intened to practice social work in Florida, you must take this particular class." I had no intention of ever living in Florida, until maybe I was doing the old retired person thing. HA!
14. As much as I think my parents are nuts for having thirteen cats, I admire them for caring so much about their animals and really trying to help animals around them.
15. I like to cook. A lot. But mostly for other people.
16. Celebrating Christmas with Cayne's family made me feel kind of sad.
17. I've been known to binge eat vegetables.
18. I have a very logical explanation of my near phobic fear of tentacles.
19. I really really want a dog, but it's not fair to the cats, and I won't get a dog while we're in an apartment, and virtually all the breeds I like won't do well in hot climates like Florida.
20. I can't convince myself that it's autumn without the smells and colors of fall.
So I'm supposed to tag n people to do this meme, where n=the amount of time it took me to come up with this list. I have no idea how long it actually took me, and since there are a bunch of people on my f'list who I'd be intersted in seeing a list like this from, go ahead and do it if you want.
