I know what you mean about missing fall. I lived in the mountains of VA for 14 years, and then moved to central NC, both of which are just spectacular areas for fall. Football games, hayrides, festivals, and church lock-ins all brought in my favorite time of year. I'm in eastern NC now, and while the weather is a bit cooler, it's just not the same. The leaves don't turn colors here, it's too swampy to ever get properly crisp, and due to my schedule I just don't have the time to go anywhere to really appreciate fall. It's my favorite time of year, and I'm missing it. I'd love to be in the mountains or making apple butter right now, but instead I'm studying.
