Is Dr.P a fertility specialist? If not I strongly recommend finding one. They can really help make sense of the process. We would not have the froggy otherwise. An OB who has experience dealing with infertility is not the same thing. If you need a recommendation I can ask our Dr for some.

The "schedule an ultrasound for when I expect to be ovulating" statement has me concerned. How are you to know when that is particularly if there is a concern that some months there is no ovulation. A specific day in your cycle should be specified.
