A new family tradition

So about seven or eight weeks ago, we started a new family tradition here. It's really pleasant, and I'm enjoying it, a whole lot.

On Monday nights (usually) we sit down and read out loud, a chapter of a book together.

Our current choice for Monday night reading...Your Pregnancy, Week by Week.

I sympathize. Greatly. Before I'd even peed on the stick, I'd developed baby brain, and between that and your other rather weighty news, I can imagine that you're distracted.

*grins* Baby brain is nuts. Yeah trying to not stress, no point, but it's definitely distracting. Thanks.

Totally! Hell, I had a nervous breakdown earlier today just trying to come up with ideas for lunch. Could not make a decision to save my life and it was really disturbing. Bill ended up just driving home to get me and pretty much decided for me.

I broke down in tears over the grocery list a while ago. I couldn't remember what we'd decided on for supper and what we needed for the pantry. That was about three days before I took a pregnancy test.

I seriously thought my thyroid was out of whack.

Crazy what growing a baby can do to our brains. At this rate, Kendra's gonna be a genius, I've got nothing left!

Has the evil pregnancy gas kicked in yet?

Some. Between about three and four in the morning, I'm up and in the bathroom from the stomach cramps.

It was scary at first until I figured out what it was!

The gas cramps are actually in a different spot and feel very different from uterine cramps for me, but they're really uncomfortable. And I don't appreciate the middle of the night wake up in pain race to the bathroom to empty my guts etc. bit. I'm hoping that at some point soon some of it will pass, though I expect it will get worse before it gets better.
