(My water broke at about 5 PM local time. Now it's a question of waiting until the contractions kick up into a regular pattern and for me to decide I'm ready to go to the hospital...or for me to decide that the broken waters plus irregular contractions and lack of significant baby movement is making me too nervous to stay home any longer.)


I'm heading for a shower and a nap, and hopefully that will kick things into action.

by 5 pm tonight, then, because they won't let water be broken for more than 24 hours without having a baby come out one way or another due to the risk of infection.

I hope for a smooth labor for her but I think you might be misinformed. I was more than 24 hours. I think that might be old info.
