In the event I do need to go down to Hampton next week one evening...anyone want to accompany me? It would involve leaving NoVa around 4:30 or 5-ish (yes I know, right in the middle of rush hour) and returning later that night, with a kitten. I'd prefer it if you were able to drive and comfortable driving my car (easy to drive.) I'd buy dinner at some point as well.

Kitten?!?!?

Not for me. For Mom.

Cross everything that she gets this kitten. She's a beautiful tri-color calico baby who was abandoned. I came accross a livejournal post, contacted the girl and said "I'll take her." (Figuring of course that Mom wouldn't say no to a kitten that looked like this, despite her insistence that they don't want another cat...they're down to nine now, they lost one over the summer.) This of course assumes that the girl's mother won't let her keep the cat.

But cross everything. It would make a beautiful addition to my parent's feline family, along with a nice birthday gift for my Mom. And if she adopts this kitten, it's likely she'd give another kitten a good home as well.

Seconded. And! I'd add that that wouldn't hold me back, since I wanna come see you anyway, but there's that whole "gas costs money" thing, dammit.

I am crossing everything crossable, because yah, your mother would provide an awesome home for the kitten from what you've told me.

*sigh* and you're going to miss out on the high heel races too this year. :( It'll be sad without your company.

Mom has even mentioned getting a second kitten to keep this one company if things work out.

Can you do a quick card reading for me about the cat?

I'm piercing Monday & Thursday, but if it happens to be Tuesday or Wednesday that you end up going, *or* if I end up not working Monday or Thursday I will let you know. I'd love to go!

How late do you pierce on Thursday-if it's not too late, I may be able to work around it. I know it won't be Wednesday because I work Wednesday night, and it's likely I'm working Tuesday night as well next week, giving HIV test results.

Generally til 7ish, though I can probably leave a little earlier.
