The post wedding update...

Now that I've filled out my first paperwork with my new name, and we've gotten our official marriage certificate back from the county clerk, I figure, you all need to read the wedding review.

You can read Cayne's review here and FJ!!'s review here.

Mine follows...

Saturday was the non-rehersal dinner. We had people over to Mom's for a pool party, which was fabulous. It was insanely hot, people enjoyed the pool, and Mom had too much food. My mother and older brother also insisted that I get thrown into the pool. Which I did, but only after I'd insisted on making sure I was in a bathing suit (I liked the outfit I was wearing and didn't want it to be ruined by the chlorine.) Cayne ended up pushing me in at some point late in the afternoon...but got pushed in immediately after by the best man. I goofed around in the pool with my niece, nephew and older brother for a bit. Then, my four wonderful bridesmaids gave me four wonderful gifts. They presented me with a collection of recipes from the bridal showers, a collage which included the shower invites, the wedding invite, the save the date, and some other things, a terrific book of advice that was sent by wedding guests and a scrap book of our histories...apart and together, complete with baby pictures.

Saturday was exactly what I needed-relaxed, laid back, and oh yeah, the pool.

I woke up at about half past four, before the alarm went off because Harley the cat decided he needed attentioin and to sleep perpendicular to me. So I got up, after maybe half an hour of sleep (I tried, really I did but couldn't fall asleep) and after showers, we set off to 7-11 in search of coffee and other beverages and some breakfast. Then, Mom, Stacey and I sat through hair and make up, and on to the no-tell motel up the road from the Thatched Cottage where the ceremony and reception where held. After we dressed, we headed off to the Vanderbilt Mansion to take pre-wedding photos in the garden.

I can't begin to describe the look on Cayne's face when I emerged from the limo. It was filled with love, and joy and so many other emotions. It nearly made me cry. I can't wait to see the actual photographs of this. I just don't have words for what I felt at that moment either.

The photographer was terrific, and I'll post some of his photos when I get them back. But he also finished an hour ahead of schedule, which left us in hot hot hot humid weather with an hour before we were allowed in to the Thatched Cottage...what's a girl to do, but go to 7-11? Two limos headed off to 7-11...other people went in, but they wouldn't let me get out of the limo to go inside. They fed me string cheese (yay cheese!) and water. Cayne emerged with a giant slurpee. He climbed into the limo next to me and people were telling him to get away from me with the slurpee and the white dress. Then, Mom emerged with a blue slurpee for me. She stood outside the limo and fed it to me through the window, so I couldn't get it on my dress. Then again, someone took photos of us sitting in the limo, holding slurpees.

We sat in the bridal suite for a while...I was anxious to see who was actually out there, but I wasn't allowed. I tried to drink lots of water, and relax. I also managed to use the bathroom (which you wouldn't care about but it required assistance.) While Rachel held my dress, I laughed and said to her, "I think the last time we were in the bathroom together like this, we were four."

We signed our ketubah (the text of which is here) shortly before the ceremony, and being less than traditional, we had everyone in the wedding party, plus [livejournal.com profile] points sign it. And then, we lined up for the ceremony. Everyone walked in, and then I walked in, and I loved watching Cayne wait for me. I completely forgot to be worried about people looking at my butt all day.

The chuppah was amazing. We made it from my Dad's tallis, attached to four white poles with some pretty purple ribbon.

Our rabbi was fantastic. He explained, step by step what was happening. I circled around Cayne, and tried not to get my dress wrapped around him...so my sister helped. We exchanged our rings, and the rabbi called on our friends to read the interpretations of the Seven Blessings-we had asked people near and dear to us to interpret the blessings. (I need to make sure to get the interpretations at some point. They were incredible.)

The rabbi read our ketubah, Cayne stepped on a glass, everyone yelled Mazel Tov and we recessed out...to the Indiana Jones theme music, which got a big laugh, as we wanted it to.

Then we headed up to the bridal suite for Yichud (ahh, nice private time) where I got Cayne to lift up my dress and get some cool air under the dress and get rid of the rivers of sweat. We hung out, while the best man guarded the door, and then we went to peek out the window, and wave at people.

Mashed potato bar. Shrimp. I have no idea...I didn't get to eat much, just drank a ton of water. They whisked us off again to anounce us to the room.

We danced, we tried to eat, we danced some more.

We danced the hora, and I nearly fainted.

More food.

Trying to make sure to say hi to everyone.

Dessert. We had a beautiful cake, and a venitian table...aka "The Dessert Bar." It was fabulous-and despite the lack of strawberry shortcake, Cayne and I went home with two pieces of it, made specially for us.

I seriously don't remember much, it flew by. I tried. And it was over quickly. But what I do remember was wonderful.
