Harry Potter
I finished HBP last night. If we hadn't been in the middle of packing, I'd have probably finished it on Saturday, but well, packing had to be a priority. Then again, if it weren't for HBP, I'd have probably found packing to be even more challenging.
I was surprised at J.K Rowling's choice of the word "slut"-not that there's anything wrong with that word in my vocabulary, or many of my peers, but it's a very judgemental word in general usage. And considering how young some of her audience is, it surprised me.
Did Snape kill Dumbledore because he's a bad guy, or because he made the Unbreakable Vow to protect Malfoy? Did he know that making the Vow would mean doing something like that?

As for your question, I believe neither. Snape is not the bad guy, and JKR has intentially portrayed him as amoral with ambiguous alliance. I also dont think Dumbledore is truly dead-- perhaps he managed to create a Horcrux of himself (and hence his intense interest in finding out about it). Also, the whining begging is very uncharacteristic of Dumbledore and therefore I believe there is more to it.
As for an extension of the Snape thing-- here's my theory which several others have expressed-- Snape was in love with Lily (both good in Potions, worked closely together). Lily went for James Potter and his cronies (the annoying popular kids who get away with everything! Ugh!). Snape made deal with Lord Voldemort to kill Harry and James but not Lily. LV breaks deal and kills Lily. Snape turns on LV and now dispises Harry because every time he sees Harry, he sees Lily in him, and it reminds him of his betrayal of Lily. Snape, I think, will turn out to be good. I doubt JKR would make Dumbledore be an ignorant fool who was wrong all along? Dumbledore keeps emphasizing that he "KNOWS" that Snape is on the right side..?
Malfoy will be a reverse Judas? He showed weakness in this book in terms of being capable of evil, and I think he will, in book 7, turn to the good side and join Harry and his cronies.
