-Our cat sitter (a friend of Cayne's from work) backed out on Friday. He told me a week ago that he was going to be here for part of the time we're gone. So, I spent a large part of today trying to find a way to care for our cats while we're gone. It's far less convenient now that we're not across the street from the office. I found us a sitter, but it's going to cost us several hundred dollars (payble by credit card only)-though at least thats half the cost of boarding them at a vet or kennel, and far less miserable for them. I couldn't imagine locking them in cages all day...that would be cruel. The sitter will come by tomorrow night, so I can give her keys and such.

-My favorite sweater is missing. I bought a terrific, warm, comfortable sweater a few weeks ago, mostly destined for wearing in Canada, and took it to my Mom's. I wore it home from there, too, and didn't take it off until we got back to the house. And yet, it's missing. I have no idea where it is. My house isn't that messy, and yet neither of us can find it.

I have been fretting in my mind about cat care for the 2 weeks that I'll be gone. One friend I'm very close to will be checking in on him once she gets back into town but that won't be until after the new year. A coworker of mine will check in a couple more times after I leave on Friday.

Still, I'll worry about him the whole time anyway. :/ Couldn't do anything about it, though; I'll be 5.5 hours away for a week and a half and then taking the train to Seattle and flying back. Kitty would like that a WHOLE lot less.

The cats were all fine. Clingy for a few days, as usual, and the chubby Miss Gizmo lost a little weight, as usual.

And actually I didn't find the grey sweater, so I went and bought the sweater in brown (which was fine...I liked the sweater and it was on sale again.) So then, we get home, and we're unloading the car and I reach into the back to get something, and there's my grey sweater, on the floor of the back seat of my car. I growled at zedrikcayne since he was the one who said to me, "I'll go and check the car" before I went and bought the brown sweater.

So now I have two of them-one brown and one grey.
