Unpleasant firsts...

First spit up all over the crib-some time around two this morning. zedrikcayne had put her into the crib to dunk a diaper and she managed to spew all over herself, him the crib. He did discover that he could hold Naomi and take a shower all at once.

First real head bump-she slid off the couch today and bumped her head on the floor while I was leaning over to get her soother off the floor on the other side. She's fine. I was more upset than she was. I cuddled her, soothed her, put her on my bed to check her out and comfort her, and she was okay.

Afraid first of many. Eliza a toddler know and constantly bumps her head. Co-showering is awesome!

I called Cayne and said "Just help me calm down a moment-the baby just fell on her head" and I explained what happened and that she was fine and I was upset more than she was and no I'm not feeling the need to freak out and call the pediatrician and so on. And then I called my Mom and say "Just tell me you dropped us on our heads and we all turned out fine" and she laughed and asked what happened and asked if the baby was okay. She also agreed with my not having a major panic attack and calling the pediatrician or rushing off to the ER (maybe it's one of the advantages to having been around small babies before or being older or something but I'm not nearly as upset as I could be. Naomi slept, ate, messed up a diaper, and now we're going to get dressed and go have lunch with a friend and then go to the chiropractor.

The joys of parenting. I can't count the number of times I've had to take one of the boys into the shower with me to hose off vomit. Favorite was when Nathan projectile vomitted into my face while I was passed out on the couch battling a strep infection.

I dropped my sister on her head, and she turned out fine too.
