Dance Ballerina Dance

I got the information for the dance class I'm thinking about (hoping to) put Naomi into. They can start at two and a half...and she'll turn two and a half in eight weeks.

Two and a half. And she's big enough to do that kind of thing without me. We could do the Mommy and Me class but there's no way Miriam would sit through it, so we'll wait a few weeks for her to do it by herself.

But that's so scary. By herself. Miriam and I will wait outside in the lobby while Naomi does her own thing. How is she old enough for that?

And I worry terribly-will she listen to the instructor? Will she follow along and participate? Will she hate it and be miserable doing it and not be able to tell me in a way that I understand? The class is all two and a half to three year olds-at three they move to a different class, so I don't worry too much that she'll be the only two and a half year old in the class.

But all by herself? Without me? Is that really okay?

Yeah, she'll be okay. :-)

Froggy started about 2 months before her 3rd birthday. I was as terrified as you but she did great and I bet Miriam will as well.

My personal measure for whether a child is old enough to do something like this is, "are they old enough to ask for it?" :-)
