Food for Thought

Today is Dine Out for Life-a regional event which benefits Food and Friends, who provide fantastic services to people living with HIV and with other life threatening conditions such as cancer. It's a good way for you to do something you need to anyway (eat!) and support an important local organization.

Here's how it works...

You visit one of the participating places for a meal (some places are all day, some lunch and dinner, some dinner)-let your server know that you want to participate and they'll arrange for some or all of the check (different places are giving different amounts) to go to Food and Friends. Or, order from Domino's and stay in. Check here for a list of participating places.

This is a great opportunity for you to get out and try something new. Go for it, and support a good cause in the process.

Just picked out all the resturants in DE and did an All_employees to everyone at work. Also told them about the link since dinner counts as well. These yahoo's go out ALL the time. ;)

Washington

Looks like Washington (state) is doing this as well, but on April 3. (In case anyone from Washington is reading this.)

Thanks for the heads up on this!

I would love to, except that it's a long, long, long way to come for dinner. I see Vancouver is doing something similar - the only Canadian location I can see - but that of course is even further than Washington.

But thanks for promoting the cause anyway. We all need to do more of that.

You know, you just so totally rock my world. It's awesome of you to broadcast this kind of thing in your LJ.

Hey...I'm cruising journals that have "Buck's Rock" listed as an interest to see if I can find anyone I know. ;) I have no idea who the heck you are, though. Hmm.

Guess who's going to be here at 9:30! Guess who's starving and might not be able to wait that long...

Maybe I'll nibble a jellybean. You wanna eat at Luna? Or are you just set to go home?

Doh--I was there '93-'95. Guess we missed each other.

Yeah, I've been semi-involved in the alumni stuff. I actually went to the very first meeting, but then I left NY. Oops. ;)

That would be so great. Perhaps if we contact the people heading up the alumni group we could get some names/contact info of alums out here and start from there? I already know of one other Buck's Rocker in DC (and she may know others)...

:)
