Cooking Questions

Okay Jews and Kitchen Mavens alike....

I need a hamentaschen recipe.

I need a fabulous yummy hamentaschen recipe. And if you have mohn filling to go along with it, that would be really extra neat.

See, I haven't baked them in years. And [livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl hasn't ever done it. So we wanna do it. And Purim is only a couple of weeks away.

So if you know how to do it, share share share share please?

Recipe from Mom... looks like she made them lower in by swapping out the sour cream for yogurt. :)

Hamantaschen

Cream together:
½ cup margarine
1 cup sugar

Beat in:
1 egg
1 tspn vanilla
½ cup plain or vanilla yogurt

Mix in:
1 tspn baking powder
½ tspn baking soda
½ tspn salt
2 2/3 cups plain flour

Refrigerate at least 2 hrs. or overnight
Roll out the dough about ¼” thick
Cut into circles - about 3-4" across
Put a spoonful of filling into the center of each circle
Dampen the edges with water
Fold into 3-cornered *hats*, pinching the edges together well
Place on sprayed baking sheet
Bake at 350 till barely golden - about 8-10 mins
Cool on a rack

(The plain dough makes excellent cookies!)
