I'm trying to get our birth plan on paper. It's not working. It's like the car seat...I'm procrastinating because I'm feeling unprepared for what it really means.

I have to do this. But it just feels so uncomfortable.

Not yet. I've given it a lot of thought, and opted to wait until after I gave birth to see it. While I know a lot of people have been all about how empowering it was to see it, and how it influenced their birth choices and so on, I've spent a lot of time trying to make peace with the fact that I'm not even allowed to attempt to have the kind of birth I'd like, and I think I'd just end up upset or angry or even more frustrated by the film, so I'll wait and watch it after the baby comes.

Ok...straight up...no chaser...

The fact is that you don't HAVE to, sweetie. The baby will be born whether you write a plan or not. Things may even go really swimmingly without a written plan. Your baby doesn't care if you have a birth plan-it's mostly for you so your wants and needs are communicated ahead of time.I am pretty sure knowing you that you'll be able to express your wants and needs at the time if you need to. If you don't want to do write onr, then don't. Guarantee you that that the baby will still know you love hir.


And somehow you will get a car seat in time to bring the baby home. These are all choices. Breathe, Mamacita. What you are feeling is normal. And OK.

Oh yeah...and I wrote the Molly's birth plan while I was in labor since she was 3 weeks early.

It's not a legal contract honey, you are over thinking it and your hormones are making everything all huge. *hug* (I know, easy for me to say...you've never done tis before)

Sweetie, I am 100% sure you will be a wonderful Mama and that the Great Maker has already given you the child you are meant to have. Believe in yourself. I believe in you.

I'm trying. I really am.

I feel like I'm forgetting something or leaving tihngs out, and it's as much for zedrikcayne's benefit as it is for the nurses. Not because he won't be a good voice when I need it but because he's charming but forgetful and when he's worried about me, he sometimes just won't remember. And so I want things on paper so that he can look and say "okay, this is what we wanted."

But at the same time, I appreciate the reminder to believe in myself. Because that's part of this whole package. I've made so many other big changes and felt good about the choices. With this, I'm just lost.

If it doesn't get written no biggie. If it makes you feel better then write otherwise let it go. You and Cayne have talked about what you want. Your doctor and duala know what you want. You are going to be there and able voice your desires so it will all work out.
