Bird Watching
Jun. 2nd, 2002 06:51 pmI have a wonderful balcony that looks out on a hill and many trees. It's actually one of the things that made me choose this apartment as opposed to comprably priced ones.
Lately, there's been a pair of brown and white birds (can't identify them more than that yet)brown heads, white chests, brown bodies with some white in the wings, and brown tails who have been perching regularly on the balcony. They're quite vocal with short clipped calls, almost like stepping on a squeaky toy, but in a lower register.
Aside from the fact that I enjoy watching them, and am tempted to try and figure out what kind of feeder I could put out on my balcony, Oblivion is incredibly amused by them. She spends a great deal of time watching the birds...and geting terribly frustrated that she can't get at them. She sits near me, watching the birds, giving me mournful looks and yowling at them like the huntress she is.
