I over did it this weekend. I decided too much needed to get done, and I did it.

Friday night, I spent taking care of my car. Right next to my office is a big construction site, and so numerous people have picked up nails or screws in their tires. This time it was my turn. I'd gone down with someone to put things in my car and noticed that the driver's side rear tire looked kind of flat. I came back upstairs, called AAA to come and change it (Not in the rain, and not in my current state.) Waiting for AAA took two and a half hours; they didn't show up til nearly 7. The tire had three screws in it, so I decided to stop at Sears on the way home to get it patched. This took another two and a half hours. (The upside was, since my car was an hour and a half later than it was promised to me, I didn't pay for the repair. The downside, I was sitting at Sears until 10 PM.) Following this, I headed to the grocery store to pick up ingredients for a corn and tomato salad. I arrived home near midnight, ate something and went to bed not much later.

Woke up early and hot on Saturday morning, and decided to give the nightstands a first coat of stain. Hauled them outside to the balcony, and gave them a coat. Didn't come out quite the color I'd hoped, but we'll see how the second coat turns out. Then I cleaned the kitchen, and made the salad, had a shower and went to a Dojo party. Ribs, beer, talk and a game of Apples to Apples. I will say, my dojo mates are a very different crowd than I'm used to playing that game with...no less fun, just different ways of thinking about clues. I did win two cards...."handsome" and "masculine"...I won the former by playing the Sean Connery card, and the latter with a card that said "doing dishes." The party broke up around 11, I was home and in bed not long after that. It was good to see the dojomates-I hadn't seen anyone since I got hurt, and I don't think I had realized what an important part of my life they are...not just the training, but the people. There's no need to say it again, but I'll be glad to get back. Very glad.

Up early on, Sunday I added a second coat of stain to the tables, and left them to dry, and then cleaned the bedroom. Still a few things to do, but it will be much easier to get the tables in when they're done. (They still need a coat of polyurethane, but I have no idea when that might happen.)

The short short version is I spent far too much time on my feet this weekend. And I hurt enough to remind me that although I feel almost 100%, I'm still apparently not healed enough to do that yet. I'm still not convinced most of the time that I'm actually injured either.
