8 am issues
Aug. 17th, 2002 08:13 amIt's just after eight in the morning, and I am
1. Hungry...not just a little hungry, but craving pizza kind of hungry. This is silly. Pizza is a perfectly acceptable breakfast food, but at 8 in the morning, the only pizza around is what's in the freezer, which is not the pizza I'm craving
2. I'm awake. This is silly. I only actually slept about 4 hours.
3. Shopping for books, which is odd, because there are literally no books I'm absolutely feeling like I must have. This means I've not been in a bookstore in too long. I'll have to correct this, soon. Plus I have book-vendor gift certificates that I haven't used yet.
4. Annoyed at my bank because a check I deposited hasn't cleared, which means I have to wait til Monday to make sure this check has cleared before I mail checks to pay bills. Plus, their website is being buggy, so I can't even be certain that it didn't get credited after midnight. This also means putting off grocery shopping, until I check the balance on this account. (Okay, so it means til Monday, but I'd rather do it on the weekend.)
5. The lady I need to give a reference to for someone hasn't called me back. She left an exasperated sounding message on my voicemail at work two days after she left the first message. I returned her call that evening and she hasn't called. If you're going to sound that annoyed on my voicemail, it's obviously quite important, but if you haven't called me back, well...it's clearly not THAT urgent.
6. I'm feeling marginally social. I should probably sleep some more before I decide to be social or not. But if I sleep more I'll wake up at some insane hour and screw my sleep schedule for the whole weekend, making getting up at 6:45 for work on Monday difficult. Ah well.
7. It's too icky to paint the tables that I have been putting off painting for weeks. It sort of went from "too chilly to be outside painting" to "too humid to be outside painting" very quickly. I sort of want autumn to hurry up and get here so that I can get them painted. It's funny-I enjoy seasons and weather changes and all that, but this summer has seemed particularly miserable, maybe because of the number of Code Red days we've had. Fortunatly, no code purple.
Feh. The Boy Meets Boy website isn't updated yet. I think I'm too grumpy to be online right now.
