Annoying thing #112 about being on crutches.

The wire from my bra keeps getting bent at the top and digging unpleasantly into my flesh.

[livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl came over last night. It must be love, she helped me with litterboxes. She did the ickiest part, carrying the litter liner down to the trash. I'm sort of amazed-Beta is too big to really comfortably use the "large" size litterbox...he really does need the extralarge one to get comfortable. He's not a fat cat by any stretch of the imagination, but he's long and tall...and has really big feet. I'm hoping that Oblivion will use the other box-the smaller one that I put out last night. I was looking at Beta's kitten pictures the other day, and was amazed that the big, sleek animal he's turned into is the same as the small furry, squeaky thing he used to be. I do assert that he's not very bright, but he does meet me at the door to my apartment most of the time when I return. I don't know how he knows. This does mean that I have to be careful when returning home that he doesn't escape.

Went to Babies R Us last night to pick up a few things for my best friend. Rach isn't due til October, but she's found out that it's a boy, so I can now purchase "gender appropriate" baby things. I admit, I don't get the only dressing boys in "boy colors" thing, but I do know parents who go that way and so I oblige. Still need to find something nice for her...nothing grabbed me. I haven't found anything that quite says what I want it to...which is "I love you, you've been my friend for 25 years, I'm thrilled that you're pregnant." (I cried when she told me.) I've polled most of my friends who have or are pregnant but nothing seems quite right. Lots of good suggestions though. I may dig through some pictures that are at my Mom's house and do something for her with them sometime...I'd love to do a little decoupage box or something. Or even a photo collage...I'll have to see what's there. Even if I just found one really good photo, blew it up to an 8x10 and got a nice frame, it would be nice.

After shopping, we stopped at a diner. I'm a fan of good diners...this one felt like the ones where I grew up...a case of yummy looking desserts and a Yankees poster in the entrance. They were very nice...the man who seated us told us "sit anywhere, wherever is easy for you." We had cheese fries with gravy...something I get a particular craving for, but didn't have one last night. I suspected this place knew how to make them, and they did. MMMM. I'm not a huge fan of french fries, but if I'm going to eat them, cheese fries with gravy (real cheese not cheez wiz) is one of the best ways. And then we had dessert. They had lemon merengue pie...so I ask for that. Our waitress asks if I wanted something else becasuse the piece there was the last piece and it might be dry. We end up with a piece of chocolate cream pie and a piece of lemon cake. And they send me home with the lemon merenge pie. It's in my fridge now. I really did like this place (for the locals, it's City Diner on Rt 7, just before Columbia Pike. It's on the right if you're going west...near the MVC.) I will have to go back sometime.

Meanwhile there's nothing going on. I came into the office today mostly to get the boxes I scored for [livejournal.com profile] melaniesue72 out of the way. Bored Bored Boring...
