Nov. 21st, 2003 04:07 pmIt's been a long time since I've had time to do any "fun" writing. Other than this journal, of course (cause if it's not fun, I'm not going to keep doing it.)
And despite GREs looming, grad school applications, a job search, I'm intrigued by something I saw the other day. Someone is looking for writing from sexual assault surviviors, to be turned into monologues as part of community education programs. I've got one or two things-one that with a bit of polishing could be a quick submission. It's not fun writing, but it's vaguely more creative than what I'm doing.
Not certain I want to do it. Just gnawing thoughts...

MMMM Good Soup

2 Tbsp corn starch
2 Tbsp water
4 cups chicken stock/broth
1 can tomatoes
1 can corn
1 small jar green chilis or jalepenos
1 can red beans
1 onion
1 red pepper
1 cup taco sauce
2 cups cooked chicken
Pour stock into pot
add onion and peppers
add other ingredients except for corn starch and water
mix cornstarch and water add to pot
add a palmful of cumin (to taste)
let simmer 15-20 minutes.
Serve with cheese if desire.
