I'm not a huge fan of commercial radio, but since I don't have a CD changer in the car, I tend to listen to the radio more than anything. (I'm a radio flipper...I'd need tons of CDs to keep me going in the car.) There is one local radio station I like quiet a bit though Z-104, for the locals.

What they're doing today is the Requestathon. They go commercial free for 24 hours, and have people bid to have their songs played...they'll play anything too. Right now, it's the theme song from "Greatest American Hero", but today's selections have included Elvis, Vicki Lawrence, 50 Cent, Elton John, Jimmy Buffet, Steve Martin's King Tut, and so on. If I had $ to do it, I'd call up and request Pansy Division or something like that.

They'll pretty much play anything. It's kind of fun.

I am amused because I just pulled out the instructions I have for using Reality for butt sex. Which are not quite as funny as the original Reality instructions, but come close. (And though I've been told that one should remove the inner ring for that, the instructions in my drawer don't include that.)

On an unrelated note I'm grateful that I have friends who talk and write freely about being in recovery. I'm not sure why it means so much to me, but it does. And I admire them for the strength they have and the work they do.

Yet another unrelated note, I'm annoyed that I can't find any of the articles I want, because I wanted to have them to refer to when I talk to melebeth's students. If I were feeling better, I could probably make more sense of where they might be.

I've got a nasty cold at the moment. It took me an hour to get home (I work 8 or 10 miles from my house, depending on which route I take-the eight mile route tends to take longer to drive) which made me grouchy. Some guy tried to hit on me in the 7-11 parking lot, which also made me grouchy. But I came home, and Beta greeted me, and I put my things down, and then he wandered over to the chair where Oblivion was sleeping, and lay down in front of her, and she started to lick his head.

That combination of Beta purring and Oblivion licking him is one of the nicest little things I get to see. It just makes me go "awww" and relax.
