I'm putting together the contact list for the most recent group of peer educators that we trained...

One of them was born in 1990. 1990...that's only two years older than my nephew. That's the year that I was in 9th grade. That's way too young to be a peer educator. It wasn't that long ago.

Watch our heroine do something really dumb.

Pay student loan by mail. Wrote check standing at post office to mail it, having realized on the way to post office that student loan payment had to be mailed that day to get to destination in time, and had stuck envelope into bag. Forget to write check in register, because writing checks standing at the post office is distracting.

Panic when reviewing finances (check hasn't posted yet) because there's no record of student loan payment. Make frantic electronic payment on due date. Use same check number as the original mailed check.

Which amounts to making 2 student loan payments this month. In theory, not a bad thing (loans are being consolidated after this month, and the extra payment means the new monthly payment goes down) in practice however, a bad thing. I really don't have the money to make two student loan payments a month. Nothing will bounce as a result, but it's still not a situation I want to be in.

And in yet another fit of non-togetherness...I had planned on going to the bank on the way back from the presentation I did. And left the check here in the office.
