They have no power, so he's decided to go to a movie, since it's too dark, without power to do the other project he wanted to do today. It makes sense. He called to make sure I didn't want to see the movie he was going to see (I didn't want to go see it.)
It was remarkably considerate. Sometimes I forget that this is part of the way things are supposed to be, because for so long, they weren't that way. It's a good thing.
Sometimes people say that when you're in a long distance relationship, it's like a vacation everytime you see your partner...that you don't have to do some of the boring day to day stuff. But you know, I'm totally ready for the vacations to end, and the boring parts to start.
