Nov. 14th, 2005 02:02 pmThe weekend:
Cayne worked all day on Saturday. I slept a little, then did the grocery shopping for the week (which I much prefer doing with Cayne, if nothing else because I don't need to drag all the groceries up to the third floor myself when we go together.) This also included running into Heidi (wife of one of Cayne's co-workers) who I spent about an hour talking to. I also went to Verizon to check out the cell phones for my parents, who are trying to replace their cell phones. Please don't ask how I fit into that equation. My parents are both in their 60s and have some difficulty seeing the numbers on their cell phones in order to dial...yet both of them would find it extremely frustrating to deal with voice dialing (or I'd suggest that.) So I sent Dad a bunch of different cell phone options, and we'll see if they find something.
Sunday we went to Epcot with
yesthattom for the Food and Wine Festival (which would have been a great deal more fun if I could have enjoyed some of the foods. The Moroccan food smelled terrific for dinner, but I was waaaay too queasy to eat. I managed a popsicle, some bread and a little bit of Coke (tried that in hopes of settling my stomach) in the park. It was really disappointing too.
This week, I'm going to finally get around to getting a new license, since we bought plane tickets that have my last name matching Cayne's last name, and well, I didn't get any new ID yet. Probably also renew my passport if I get around to it this week. Also need to go to the post office, make the holiday card list, and do other little things.
Cayne won some award at work, and the reward he chose was a $50 Amazon gift certificate, so I'm trying to decide if I ought to spend it on books, or save it and use part of it to buy holiday gifts. It's tempting to spend (and I may get at least one book for myself whether I save it or spend it.) Aaaand it's of course approaching holiday party season, we just got the invitation for Cayne's holiday party, which is being held down at the Hard Rock. And the dress code? "Dress to Impress"-what in the world does that mean? I have no idea what to wear, or if I have to go shopping, or what. I was kind of hoping to put off buying a dress for a few months, until closer to the wedding we've got to go to in March...so what do you think it means?
