Feb. 1st, 2006 10:15 amBoth Widget Ferdinand Thunderpaws and Gizmo Elizabeth Thunderpaws have been to the vet this week to be fixed. Widget bounced back very quickly from his surgery, and was in the bathroom sink on Tuesday morning as I tried to brush my teeth, not uncommon for him. Gizmo has been slower to recover, spent most of last night woozy and is having trouble getting up and down from furniture. She's hanging out under the bed at the moment. Keeping her from licking her incision will probably be more difficult than keeping Widget from his. It looks like they shaved quite a bit of her, too. Cayne was surprised at the size of her navel. Widget and Gizmo decided they liked each other again rather quickly, and that funny vet's office smell wasn't bad. They cuddled and licked each other almost immediately after we returned from the vet, both days.
Rather unusually, the vet is requiring bordatella vaccinations (kennel cough) for the cats. Whenever I 've had dogs, they've always gotten the bordatella vaccination, but never the cats. These three all have rabies and distemper vaccinations, but apparently the cough is going around, so, Widget and Gizmo got it, and Beta will go next week. (Beta doesn't know this, or he might not be sitting next to the computer dragging his tail across my fingers.)
I'm watching Larry King on Sesame Street. It's making me laugh. Except that Larry is sitting with the letter "W" and asking about favorite "W" words, and he keeps referring to "W". Then again, Sesame Street is about the level of TV for our president, known as "W"-you know, basic lessons like "Help other people" and "Be Nice" and spelling and stuff.
I had a strange dream about pregnancy tests last night. In CVS, in the pregnancy test aisle, telling the clerk that I'd gotten two different results on the different brands of tests, and having her tell me that she, and her family all like this other particular brand.
Today includes a trip to the cat food store to buy more cat food. It seems like three cats eat quite a bit more food than two-I feel like we're always heading out there to buy cat fod, since we can't get the brand we like nearby, and the cost of having it shipped isn't an equitable trade for the expense of going to get it.
21406 is up and running, so leave your notes, anonymous or not for the ones you love, or like, or have crushes on. I've seen messages for some of you already. (If you're looking to leave a little love for me, you can do it under "E" or "G".) I need to not feel guilty for not buying a V-Day gift for Cayne-we made an agreement not to buy gifts for each other, but to go out to Build-A-Bear (something we did on the first weekend we spent together in the final incarnation of dating which became getting married) and to dinner. But then, he says to me that he's expecting a package, and that I shouldn't open it. Okay, fine. I ask if the contents are for me, and he tells me they are. So I inquire as to the occasion-my birthday (which isn't til the end of May) our anniversary (not until June) so the only thing I can think of is Valentine's Day. I admonished him for going against our agreement-not that I hadn't thought about, but I haven't. Grrr.
