Dance it Out and My Strange call to 911.
Jan. 12th, 2009 10:25 pmThe two topics are unrelated, but I figured I'd make one post.
Our favorite way to get some cardio in these days...
"Dance it Out"-put some good music on and grab Naomi and dance. Today we danced to Social Distortion, Cornershop, Bauhaus, Simple Minds, They Might Be Giants, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Propellerheads/Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Dar Williams, Loudon Wainwright III, and Matthew Sweet. And some other stuff, too. We pass Naomi back and forth and just dance around the house and sing.
zedrikcayne turns her sideways and strums her like a guitar. She just giggles and giggles and kicks her feet. I can't wait til she can dance with us on her own.
And my strange 911 call...
I was driving to the acupuncturist today (for those of you familiar with this general area, I was on I-4 at exit 98, Lake Mary Blvd, waiting to go east on Lake Mary) and in front of me was a pick up truck with a trailer attached to the back-one of those open/flat trailer kinds of things. On the trailer was a pallet of Pepsi-the boxes of 24 cans, like they sell in the supermarket. So the truck makes a right on red, and as he's turning, I see the top half of the cargo shift, and I just watch, as these boxes of Pepsi fall off the truck, sending sprays of Pepsi up in the air, and cans rolling across three or four lanes of traffic. Meanwhile, the cars are stopping and swerving and all over the place trying to avoid the Pepsi mess and not really knowing what to do with it. So I call 911 because I don't have the non-emergency number for Lake Mary police, and there's clearly a rather messy traffic situation going on.
It was hard to not laugh while talking to the 911 dispatcher. And that's a weird spot for that sort of thing too-Lake Mary Blvd is under the jurisdiction of the Lake Mary police while the exit ramp from I-4 is a completely different jurisdiction.
