Oh wise LJ Friends

I had the very pleasant experience of hearing someone in the course of doing his job today call someone "a douche." It's someone I like and respect and I found it distressing...doubly so since he's someone who is well aware of the presence of my two year old and who is very familiar with the fact that two year old children repeat a lot of things they hear (fortunately Naomi didn't seem to pay attention.) But it's an insult I just don't use and never really have because it seems misogynistic to me. So I'm wondering if it's just me (really us because Cayne agrees with me) or not.
