Seriously... I wonder what happened to the whole "covenant marriage" movement that started in Louisiana several years ago? I can totally see the "marriage protection" zealots using the Britney fiasco as ammunition to start pushing for covenant marriage laws in other states.

Oh, and lunch would be good. This week is fairly packed already, but early next week might work.

I think people who care what Brittany Spears does have too much time on their hands.

She's a kid. Kids do stupid schtuff. The only thing that makes her any different than any of us at her age is that she's got the money to more easily un-do her mistakes.

She's 22. I know I did some dumb stuff at 22, but going out and getting married on a whim, because I wanted to do something crazy wasn't among the things I did.

Even my little brother, who got married without much thought to the consequences when he was 19 managed to stay married for longer than 55 hours.

22 is young, perhaps too young to get married, but not too young to know what marriage means and that it's not something you do just because you feel like getting a little wild. Especially since, from what I've heard they went to the chapel, were told they couldn't get married without a license, and then had to go get one, before returning to the chapel to get married.

Perhaps it was a well calculated publicity stunt, like kissing Madonna was-her album sales have been down significantly. But honestly, whatever the motivation, it makes me think even less of her than I already did.
