I'm incredibly happy with how dinner turned out tonight. I tossed some chicken, and veggies and pinapple together with a yummy sauce. I'm fairy certain it would work well with tofu, if you're a tofu eating type. (I'm not; I like it, if well prepared, but it tends to overwhelm me with soy.)

I took part of a jar of ducksauce, drained a can of pineapple chunks into it-kept the pineapple for later, added some garlic, some chili powder, some soy sauce, some black pepper, some worstershire sauce together. Somehow, I had no ginger in the house, or I'd have added some of that too. Marinated the chicken-which I seasoned with a little salt/pepper/garlic before I tossed it in, in half of it, left half of it for later.

I stir fried the veggies, pineapple and chicken in a big pan, when it was nearly done, I added the half of the sauce I'd saved, brought it to a boil and pulled it off the heat. Good stuff.

So [livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl and I had a conversation about food craving when we were on our way back from Boston. I'm an "ignore it, it'll eventually go away" type. Most of the time. (The exceptions being PMS related food cravings-I tend to have very strong emotional reactions when I have PMS and ignoring food cravings makes them worse, veggies or fruit, and salty snacks-which usually mean that I'm getting a cold.) I'm prone to ignoring food cravings-I had one today for pasta, and I could have tossed some fresh pasta into the pan while I cooked dinner, but didn't. I'm not feeling like I missed the pasta, but I'm not sure that doesn't mean that tomorrow, I'll wake up with a raging carb craving. What are some of the strategies other people use for dealing with cravings? Why do you find them effective.

In other less exciting news, I've accumulated quite a list of things that are difficult to do with one hand not working up to par. And they're getting quite frustrating. Raar.
