New Jersey has declared a state of emergency after 8 PM and non-emergency vehicles are not allowed out.

They're predicting 15-25 inches where we are, at least.

I can't see the tiretracks in the road. I've yet to see a plow, salt or sand truck in my neighborhood. Lots of businesses, including one of the malls are closed.

We made a big pot of tomato soup this afternoon, we set up the other tv we had, so that Cayne can play video games and I can watch movies.

20-30" predicted, here. *sigh* our state of emergency just got declared like 10 minutes ago.

thankfully, we planned to stay in just in case it got this bad.

i'm so over winter already.

Wow, I didn't know they declared state of emergency. Good thing I didn't go to my friend's house. It would suck if power went, I really hope it doesn't.

I just posted some pics from wandering around outside earlier... fortunately we're on a pretty main road so the trucks go through by us. Deptford Mall doesn't like to close for anything and I think they closed.

That sucks. I must be lucky to be in an area where they're good about that, I actually just heard a plow go by, with that horrible scraping sound. I'm over in Williamstown, Monroe Twp, I think Gloucester County? I'm not used to the twp/county thing. I've heard of Essex but not really sure where it is.

I was thinking in terms of stocking up on candles and battery-powered lights, and choosing alternate entertainment forms (board games, etc). Good luck!

yeah, we're only due for 12"-18", which is pretty mild stuff for this area. boy is in/around Boston, and he's due for at least 24", and the wind warnings for Cape Cod are up to 70mph. eeep!

stay warm, and cuddle with boy and kitties. :)

I can open the door to the balcony, although the snow is piled up around it.

I walked out there a couple of hours ago to assess whether or not it was realistic to try to snap pics (it isn't) and the footprints are already totally gone, between the snowdrifts and the new snow.

So very very glad I don't work for US Airways anymore. Today had to totally suck.

When does New Jersey ever get this much snow.

We got 14-16" in south Jersey. My mother-in-law (lives in Cranford/Linden area) said they only got 8" but I think her number is skewed by the fact that she hadn't left the house and didn't shovel the walkway, so she obviously has no clue how much snow is out there.

We made sure to shovel every 3-4 hours to ensure we didn't get snowed in.

Mmmm tomato soup. My city was in a state of emergency where no one was supposed to leave their homes unless it was an emergency.Did my work care? NO! I was driving my OLDMOBILE ALERO through snow that kept four wheel drives off the road to get to work. Yeah, and we still had customers coming in to buy shit! Not many mind you, but I did want to shoot every one of them that came in! Grrr! I work at a Ford dealership by the way.
