Things that rock:

Sharing that silly Rubber Duckie thing at work (see previous entry for the url)
My uberboss and his partner putting a bid on a house, and seeing how happy and cute uberboss was about it (I adore how A. refers to J. as "honey"...it makes me kvell. [1])
Bible stories being told at the staff meeting. (I'd usually put this under things that suck, but our inspirational thought [2] (which isn't necessarily religious) for the week had to do with Jonah and the Whale, and since there were people unfamiliar with the story, our executive director explained it, and the way it was told was just so amusing.)
Getting the laundry done
Kittens

Things that suck:

My boss
Being tired
My group getting cancelled
Have I mentioned my boss yet?
People using you for a reference and not letting you know before they do it, so you're caught off guard when the call comes.
Sunburns
Wasting Saturdays at events you're at for work when they're not appropriate events.
Feeling like when we talk about faith communities at work, people mean "Christian" and so I feel left out.

Random to-do-ish things:

Answer a couple of e-mails that have been neglected for a couple of weeks because work has been brain frying.

Nudge curiousangel about going to dinner...mmm...Crabs.

Call back the woman who called me for a reference about my-not-aquariumgirl sweetie

E-mail matthewp about setting up domain related stuff.

Make spaghetti for dinner.

Sleep, Sleep and More Sleep

Try to call NP's office again and make them call me back this time. (I want to change my allergy medication and get answers.)

Figure out some better ways to manage stress than letting my shoulders get all knotted up.

And some other things I can't think of.
[1] The best definition I can think of for "kvell" is sort of like bubble with joy. It's not quite the right definition but I can't really explain it in English...it's a Yiddish thing.
[2] Our work related inspirational thought for the week: Sometimes you have to let go of the boat when it's rocking and do the thing that's most scary. (I work for some place with Ministry in it's name...and though it's not a religious organization, it does have some pretty strong ties to faith based communities.)

Unfortunately, on Wednesday we leave for a week in Canada, so it's gonna have to wait until we return. However, once we make it back, I'll email you to set something up. Sound good?

i think that IME, kvell has an implication of becoming almost teary with joy--does that resonate with anyone else?

Yep. I said bubbling, you said teary. It's one of those things that makes your heart feel the joy thing...

I'm finding it harder and harder to explain some of the Yiddish that I use.
