Corporate Ratings from the HRC
Aug. 13th, 2002 07:59 pmHRC, the Human Rights Campaign recently surveyed 319 companies that employ 500 people or more on their glbt-related policies.
The results can be found here.
Thirteen of the more than three hundred companies surveyed earned perfect scores. 92% include sexual orientation in their non-discrimination policies, and 69% offer health benefits to same sex partners. (Okay, those are the good parts...there are bad parts too)
Three companies scored zero. Only five percent include gender expression/identity in their policies.
It's nice to see progress, to see that there are companies working towards equality for glbt employees. It also says there's a lot more work to be done.
(and it almost makes me forgive HRC for endorsing Alfonse D'Amato a few years ago...)
