peeves of the moment

Because I have a lot of peeves...

people who don't check things like Snopes to find out if things are true or not before they post them. Lately it's been Dr. David Hager and Dioxin in Tampons, but it doesn't matter.

people who misspell "masterbate"-no idea why this irritates me so much, but it's one of the most glaring spelling errors and gets on my nerves a lot.

And those are my peeves of the moment.

I hate when people misspell bestiality. Luckily, that word doesn't come up often.

I'll admit-it's not a word I think about or see very often, except maybe when doing a purity test.

Yes I did. I can in fact spell masturbate.

I even ran the spell checker to make sure I'd spelled misspell correctly because it looked funny.

I'm amused by people who misspell "misspell." I think my biggest peeve is when people think that every word ending in "S" need's an apostrophe.

I get hung up on people who can't differentiate between its and it's, and between your and you're, and their, there, and they're. Misspell is just one of those words that sometimes looks funny-I feel the same way about the word penis though.

And last week's grammar torment for me was the flyer that included "Sasha Bruce Youthworks." The possessive for "youthworks" is s', which just looked weird when I was messing with the layout. The flyer came out reasonably nicely considering I was trying to do it in MS Powerpoint, and not even something intended for that kind of work like Publisher.
