Work. Work is peeve filled.

My family is at it again too...this time the Mom broke a bone in her foot, and no one bothered to tell me. I found out today from my sister. She'll be okay-everyone is saying "don't come home" which is to be expected. When Dad says "come home" I'll come home.

I had another peeve, but I don't recall. It'll come up later.

"advanced ticket sales"

What -- the simple ticket sales aren't enough?

The fourth floor of my office is a veritable cornucopia of peeves.

Rephrase "advanced ticket sales" for me? I understand the peeve, but at 20 to seven in the morning, I can't reframe the concept.

And maybe I can drag you out of the office for lunch again sometime soon. But not when I have to teach eighth graders at 7:45. Then agan, my class is over so there's time for me to have something resembling a life again, sort of.

It's supposed to mean the place you go to buy tickets in advance - for a future occasion, rather than the place you go to buy tickets for today.

A tiny note in your mom's favor, potentially, although I understand this is a chronic issue with both of you. (The unwillingness to ask each other for help thing).

There are some bones you can break in your feet where you'll hardly notice anything is wrong.

Mom and I do have this "not asking for help from each other" habit...tis true. It's an independence thing; one of the things I learned from her is that women shouldn't need to depend much on other people in their lives, and should be able to do it themselves. And it's silly sometimes to go to the extremes that we both do, but that's just the way we are.

She's on crutches/in a cast. Hasn't seen the orthopedist yet, but we'll know soon. I'm sure shell be fine in the end. This is an extra bad time to be at less than 100%...she's got commencement stuff to deal with today.
