Jun. 2nd, 2003 01:06 amI should be sleeping. I'm not. Instead I'm eating frozen peaches (one of my favorite sumemrtime snacks) and watching Bad Canadian Soft Core. [1] I'm blaming this weekends near constant headaches on caffeine withdrawl. I got careless with caffeine consumption again, and so this was as good a weekend as any to cut it out. If I could better control my caffeine intake, it would be okay, but it's kind of a nasty cycle...sleep badly, drink caffeine to get through the day, which means more sleeping badly, which means more caffeine and so on, until it just doesn't matter anymore. I feel better without caffeine...sleep better, less achy/crampy, asthma is better controlled.
Saw Margaret Cho this weekend with
aquariumgirl and
hotpoint. She never fails to please, but this wasn't the best show I saw her do. Was fun nonetheless. I still think "I'm the one that I want" and "Notorious C.H.O." were better.
Spent most of Saturday sleeping. Grabbed a few groceries, and packed tonight, to spend two days on staff retreat in West Virginia. I'm not looking forward to it this year, the way I was last year...maybe just because I'm unhappy with a lot of what's going on at work. Oh well, I'll put a good face on it, and try to be productive, since last time I complained about something I was rewarded with a memo about not being a team player and not to complain about the particular thing that bugged me. I'm trying to be out of the office as much as possible to avoid killing people.
Sorely disappointed with Showtime's "Out of Order." No need to repost the conversation that
melebeth and I had about it.
BetaKitty has discovered Marshmallows. It's fun to watch him play with them, but I keep him away-they're sticky and they end up in his fur, and the carpet and so on. Not worth the amusement factor. I've wrestled with him a bunch this weekend though...it's hard to believe he's lived with me since September. He's gigantic, and loud, and cuddly. It's nice having a cat who likes being picked up and held.
I think I'll run through my packing list one last time, and make sure my karate stuff is all together, since I may end up returning from the wilds of West Virginia and heading pretty much straight to the dojo...
Don't write too much while I'm gone.
[1] which actually got interesting tonight when I realized it had Thea Gill from Queer as Folk in it...

Date: 2003-06-02 05:57 am (UTC)Seeble. I think I was too thrown off by the dress and wig at first. ;) Towards the end I really enjoyed the show, but I thought it took a while to get up any momentum. I was pleasantly surprised by the opening act too, I thought he was hysterical. =)

Date: 2003-06-02 09:51 am (UTC)Which night did you see Margaret Cho? I saw her Saturday, and I almost died. Of course, my basis for comparison are the videos and tv specials, and I could always tell she was holding back in those.
