I'm Back-Did Ya Miss Me?
Jun. 18th, 2002 06:44 pmLong weekend at my parents...Dad was totally surprised to see me. I spent a lot of time with family...Mom, Dad, and my younger brother and sister. Shopped for tile cause the bathrooms are getting redone, went to a movie, out to dinner, brunch together, and so on.
My brother's changed quite a bit in the last year. Not a complete turn around, but he's much more responsible than previously...he gets up for work by himself now, he gave back a CD he'd taken without asking, and admitted he'd borrowed my camera without asking, when I asked him about the pieces that were missing. Then again, when I went into his bedroom to get the case for the CD he'd taken, there was still a pile of drugs on his desk, and paraphernalia all over the place. Maybe he's changed.
Stopped by the Uni where I did grad work, saw old bosses and so on. It was nice.
It was odd though-I did the grocery shopping with my mother, and since I've moved out, she's rearranged some things...I had a hard time putting the groceries away. My parents, in planning for the new bathrooms are thinking "resale-probably 5 to 10 years" which is a bit hard for me to think about...that's my childhood home, and while I always knew they would eventually move out, five years doesn't seem like that far off, and all that.
It was a lovely weekend, all in all.
Took yesterday off to drive back.
Today was in-service on integrating HIV and Substance Abuse Prevention...not much new information, but at least it was well presented.
