How Dumb Is He?
Sep. 25th, 2003 09:38 amHey
aquariumgirl another Beta story to share with Tim...
In my bathroom, there's a 1 quart plastic container. It's the tall kind, that wonton soup from the chinese take out place comes in. I keep it on the floor near the sink, and use it sometimes to water plants. Beta, in his infinite wisdom had always ignored it up until yesterday. Yesterday, while I was changing my clothes after work, Beta wandered into the bathroom, sniffing around for more attention than he'd already gotten. He tries to mash his head against the container, to leave his scent mark on it. It wobbles and moves away from him, so he goes and sniffs it from the top. And sticks his head in it. So now I've got dumb cat, with plastic container stuck on his head running around. I catch him, remove the container, put it back where it belongs, comfort the cat and go about my business. Genius cat.
Fast forward to this morning...I'm in the bathroom, getting ready for work. Beta wanders in. Sees plastic container. Sniffs. Knocks it over. Sticks head in it. Panics. Runs around shaking head trying to get it off.
Yes. He's really this dumb. (But I love him, and he's pretty, and other people adore him too.)
And in other exciting news...I manage to injure myself walking up the stairs to my building. I thought it was a pulled muscle, but it feels like I've knocked my knee out of place again. In which case I'll be a very unhappy (and sore) girl.
And where is this person who is supposed to be doing our site visit today?
