How Not to Start a Monday

Go to bed a bit late, although not atypically late for a Sunday night.
Wake up about three hours later because the deaf cat has turned on the radio. She of course doesn't know she's done this, whereas if Beta had done it, he'd have freaked out.
Get confused by what time it is, and why radio is on. Realize it's not time to get up, turn radio off and go back to sleep.
Wake up about two hours later, for the same reason, go through the same process, and go back to sleep.
Wake up about 25 minutes late because instead of turning radio on a third time, cat has managed to turn the volume dial down so low that it couldn't be heard. Panic. Race around getting dressed and realize there's not really enough condition for two showers. Dilute dilute dilute! And hope there's enough until a Whole Feeds trip can be made tomorrow. Get dressed. Feed cats. Misplace shoes. Realize it's a good thing trash was taken out last night. Race off to work. Arrive within 5 minutes of expected arrival time and help co-worker to bring things in.

Later on: Acquire coffee...this is not the norm but a necessity today. Realize someone has brought donuts and that donut appeals more than toast, to accompany yogurt. Acquire glazed donut, passing on powdered because of black sweater. Engage the hanky-man in conversation about weekend, which spawns a conversation about how confusing men are. Disagree heartily, return to desk expecting staff meeting to start. It hasn't yet.

Still. Not optimal start.
