Yay for Friday
Yay for a DVD of Coupling
Yay for getting a chance to nap this afternoon

(Three cheers is enough.)

I am the nap monster. I haven't made it through this week without a nap a day. I don't like that. And I've gotten to sleep late every day this week but Monday. Even when I've been going to bed at reasonable hours I want more sleep.

Scheduled a training in Leesburg for the end of the month-some of you Loudoun County types...do you think you might be able to offer me two nights of crash space (the 28th and 29th) of this month?

Mom asked what I wanted for my birthday...which is in two and a half weeks. Um I don't know. (Not true, I do know...)

How many of you are on friendster now? Enough that I should give in to peer pressure and start linking things? (I admit, I miss the old sixdegrees)
I should go do paperwork that I've been avoiding.

A long time ago, in a strange conversation, about nudity on film,[livejournal.com profile] melaniesue72 described Harvey Keitel's penis or Kate Winslet's breasts (I don't recall the specifics anymore...we were talking about both of them) as "like a train wrek-you don't want to look but you have to."

I'm having that sort of day.

Normally, I look at pictures of STD infected genitalia and it's no big deal. It's part of what I do. Today, in the assistant director of education's office I actually turned around and said "where's your trashcan?"

I came inches from losing my lunch over the pictures today. The eye...the gonorrhea in the eye just got me. Reverse peristalsis set in.

All in all a bad sign...especially when I've got to go teach STD 101 classes tonight...

And today it makes me squirmy that I'm teaching it to kids who were born when I was in high school...

Seriously thinking about switching primary care doctors....

I like the NPs in the practice. I don't like my GP. I haven't liked her since the beginning, the first time I saw her for asthma related stuff. Still no word on the MRI. Have just made phone call number 2 about it. She's pushed narcotics for pain management when I specifically said I wasn't okay with them. And she only gave the referral to ENT grudgingly for the tonsils, at which point she also told me that it would be expensive, elective surgery or that they wouldn't take them out at all.

It's hard with the HMO to be so limited in the choices I have for doctors...but even if I have to stay within the same practice, I'd like a difference PCP.

I'll call and see who is taking new patients I guess.

I got annoyed at the state of our cabinets at work today-not long ago I ordered three hundred brochures from the state...they're now nearly all gone and I wanted some to take along tonight.

I told the department head that I'd even be willing to take responsibility for tracking what we're using because it's so annoying to go to get things and find them not there.

So...here's what I want to do...

build a database in Access (cause that's all I've got) that can be accessible to everyone who needs it, which will track quantities of brochures and send an e-mail out to someone when a particular brochure needs to be reordered. The reorder value can be either universal or individual to the particular brochure-we go through some more quickly than others.

Anyone ever done this before? Does it work? Could you help me do it?
