Filling in the blanks.
Apr. 29th, 2004 10:38 amI've been largely content free this week...so, a rundown...
I have a job here until funding runs out at the end of September. That doesn't mean I'm not looking further north, but that I know I've got something here. Course that's not accounting for how it affects my mental health...
Got an engagement card from best friend's mom this week. Surprising, but nice. Mom and I had a conversation about engagement gifts. I told her the most practical thing, if anyone asks is gift certificates to Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Home Despot...the usual, but she, and others aren't always comfortable with giving gift certificates, and so, Cayne and I are supposed to register for a few things just in case people want to give gifts. (My family generally isn't the engagement gift giving type.) But seriously...we're both moving. Gift certificates are far more practical to move.
I've been sucked into Breedster. I'm waiting to become a pupa. Looks like fun.
Cayne will be here tomorrow. This makes me happy. I'm not sure which stresses me more though...him meeting my parents next week, or my meeting his parents the following week. Course it could all blow up when the parents meet each other too. Whatever. We'll see wonderful people at
melaniesuzanne's wedding on Saturday. It will be lovely.
I had no water yesterday...suddenly maintenance decided that whatever problem was going on was so urgent they had to cut off the water at 7:15 or so when I was in the shower, covered in shampoo. Needless to say, it was a very sticky day. Oblivion even tried to bite my head.
I love being internal tech support/computer expert. "Do you know how to do a mail merge?" "Yes." "Well I tried and I broke it. Can you fix it?" I suppose this falls under the part of my job description that says "Other duties as assigned."
I think that covers most of it. I should write something about the march last weekend, but not right now.
