I woke up about half an hour before the alarm went off today, and needed to use the bathroom. So I did. I'd left my alarm set for it's usual time, knowing that I didn't have to be in the office til half past ten, so I'd figured on watching Bare Naked Ladies on the Today show this morning, and lounging around.

I decided to get back into bed for another half hour or so, and couldn't deal. I could hear myself breathing. Not just breathing, but wheezing.

I am so hating this right now. I wanted to try and go off my asthma drugs (except the rescue inhaler) namely because they're expensive, and I'm fully expecting to not have health insurance for a while (despite [livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl's insistance that with a chronic health condition I can't be without health insurance) but my medication (not including rescue inhaler or birth control pills) without health insurance would run somewhere in the range of $200 a month. Which is less than a lot of people pay for what they need, but it feels like a lot to me.

Hate hate hate hate asthma right now.

Background-my parents like cats. A lot. Probably even more than I do. They've lost two in the last year to old age related stuff, and will probably lose a third-my Smear cat, which I'm devastated about, any day now. Smear Cat has alzheimers. She can't remember that she's eaten and she can no longer find the litter box. Even with the loss of two cats, they had seven cats. Plus Mom's rescue/ferral cats.

About two weeks ago, a woman called up the rescue group that Mom works with. She was working about twenty minutes away, and there were three ferral kittens that she had been feeding. Her office was moving though, and she didn't want to just abandon the kittens, who were probably around eight or ten weeks old. Could the Cat Network help? Somehow, my parents volunteered to trap and rehabilitate the kittens, who are in the bedroom that belonged to my brother when we were growing up-they're too small to be given run of the house yet, not ready to be introduced to the other cats, and way too small to go outside alone. They also need a vet visit before they're allowed near the other cats. They've also decided to adopt the three kittens-two tricolor calicos, and one black kitten, who have been named Larry, Moe and Curley.

Just want you to know how absolutely NUTs your parents are.

Last night we went out and bought an air conditioner for the kittens.....I never really believed how hot it gets in that little room.....Zach was right to complain.

You couldn't sit in that room without thinking you were in a sauna and the kitties were just lying there panting away.

Fortunately a/c was on special for $55.00.

BUT....it did seem a little absurd to be buying an air conditioner for kittens!

Where did you find these parents?

Stop Thief!

Someone has taken all of the toilet paper from the women's restroom.

We don't know why. We also can't get into the supply closet to get anymore; we don't have a key for it, only the custodial staff.

Um, sure.
