Dec. 3rd, 2004 03:46 pmWe got our heat back on Wednesday. It probably went off Sunday when we had repeated power outages. I'm so used to being cold that I didn't think to mention it to Cayne til Monday night at which point the temperature in the house had dropped to 60. Tuesday, the repair people who were scheduled (I don't know who they were, Cayne called them) never showed up. Tuesday evening, we called PSE&G (the electric/gas people) who came on Wednesday afternoon and were horrified about the state of the boiler. The wiring was apparently not done properly, the transformer which controlled the boiler was blown. So the first thing to do was replace the transformer, which involved rewiring stuff. Then, it turned out, the boiler hadn't been drained (something which is supposed to happen on a weekly basis apparently) in ages, and there was mud in the unit, which had to be cleaned and whatnot. It was quite an adventure, but I was thrilled to have heat on Wednesday.
( three random things I adore about Cayne )
Cayne declared today "Cuddle your Wife Day"-I usually remind him that I'm not technically his wife yet, but I think in favor of observing that day, I'll declare that technicalities don't matter today.
Need to actually sort out the ten wishes meme so I can get it posted.
