I need to figure out where to go to get Passover groceries this week. This is one of the times when I miss living in a place with a real, Jewish community. The stores here don't know how to display Passover foods properly, and it's hard to get all the things I want (Nyafat, for example, which is a trasnfat laden, vegetable based version of schmaltz, and the only time I ever use it is during Pesach to make matzo brei-nothing else works quite as well.) I also need to figure out what to have for my parents, because I think they arrive at the end of Pesach, which means I need to plan dinner for the night they arrive, and whatever food we need for the next day. I've made arrangements with the hotel to drop off some things for them before I go to the airport, too, so I can leave matzo and fruit and juice and condiments and soda for them-much easier than having to take it to the airport and then drive back to to the hotel.

I'm glad that Naomi's birthday is after Passover this year though. It makes parties and cake much easier. I wish she were old enough to enjoy Bedikat Chameatz this year. I was in labor for it last year-followed by my request for a Kosher meal at the hospital, and being given pork chops....I shudder to think what they might have sent if I'd requested veg*n food. (And actually, that's not why I'm totally turned off by the idea of another hospital birth in the future...it was actually the pediatrician that saw Naomi who has made me fear and dread the idea of another hospital birth. Hopefully I won't risk out this time.)

I think maybe after the holidays and after my Mom and Dad leave, we might work on getting naptime to happen a little later in the day. We'll see.

And now, this entry that I started during naptime is done.
