(no subject)

I love the way Naomi says the word bicycle-with a strong emphasis on the first syllable. Cayne says it sounds sort of like Freddie Mercury in the song "Bicycle Race." I will have to try and get it on video some time.

I was banished from the house for a while this afternoon and it was wonderful. My instructions were simple-go out, don't spend too much money, don't do things that you "should" do (like go buy clothes for the kids,) don't be home too late and please stop at the grocery store and pick up something for dinner if you're going to come home in time to have dinner.

I went to a movie-saw Sex in the City 2. I ate popcorn and didn't share. I drank a soda through a straw and didn't have to try and convince my two year old that she didn't want to drink my drink. (She thinks that everything that comes through a straw is milk and frequently tries to take sips of my iced tea.) Then I went to the bookstore and browsed and read for a while. And I drank some orange juice.

And then I stopped at the grocery store, picked up milk and dinner and came home to cuddle my kids. Dinner for all, baths and bed for them, and bed soon for me too.

I think I will do this whole going off by myself thing again.
