If I should ever get the chance to do academic research again at a real library (cause I doubt that this is original research worth a dissertation) two things I want to do research about...
-educational achievement differences in countries with true social safety nets vs. the US (I'm wondering if the social safety network makes a difference...here we've got schools that are trying to address social issues like homelessness or hunger and that has to affect academic achievement somehow.)
-this one is a little harder to explain, but also has to do with social safety nets. I'm curious about the interaction between faith, family relationships, political views and views on government sponsored social welfare programs.
