Since I haven't created a filter nor has everyone had time to answer the poll yet, I'm posting this as a public entry. It may not remain that way.

if i can find a copy of it, i'll have to send you my personal statement. it compared continuing my education in the social sciences to selling girl scout cookies.

your point is very well made, but fairly academic. try poking on the internet for 'how to write a statement of purpose' or something similar. i found that a touch of creativity combined with some good writing really worked for me (and really left an impression which seemed good!)

I still have the one I wrote for graduate school, when I did my MSW. I'm trying to find a good balance of academic and fluff...this was more an "I like this and don't want to lose it" post than a theme.

But I'm a big huge spaz and forget things...which is part of the reason I can leave myself notes in my livejournal.
