Had a great weekend in New Jersey with [livejournal.com profile] zedrikcayne et al. Got a later start Friday than I wanted to, and it took six hours to get from here to there, which meant I got in about two hours later than I'd planned, and wasn't feeling well (I've determined that the cause of the headaches over the last few months is more than likely the birth control pill and will call the NP today to change it.) Still, we had a nice weekend, a quiet-ish Friday night, some snuggling and gaming on Saturday, and the chocolate party on Saturday night. It was a lovely day, up to and including the car crisis. Hit a piece of road debris (the state trooper identified it as the piece of metal that holds mudflaps onto a truck) and punctured a tire. Okay, right, change the tire. For various reasons, that couldn't happen, and well, let's just say, thank goodness for AAA. It meant some snuggletime and really great conversation in the car while we waited for AAA, and then thawed out in a diner until [livejournal.com profile] khatru came and rescued us. Sunday was a busy day, bells, then lunch, then taking care of the car and trying to find jeans that I liked, and a quick stop at [livejournal.com profile] tactisle and [livejournal.com profile] shirleym's to pick up books and chocolate. Made great time home-in fact only 4 hours and a few minutes, caught up on e-mail and lj, made lunch, unwound and went to bed.

Need to decide where we want to go for Dine out for Life on Thursday. Check the website to see if there's an event near you. Luna is on there, and that's one of my favorites (and [livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl likes it too) but Melting Pot is on there, and I haven't been to Melting Pot in a loooong time.

Work calls.

I've been having fantasies about Melting Pot for the past month and a half. Unfortunately, the cost is prohibitive for me. It's all up to the man with the well paying job, not the woman who is a poor grad student.

Stephen and I can make it in for a gathering at the melting pot, especially for such a worthwhile cause. Who else is in?
