geminigirlI'm glad I went to NY yesterday...it was exhausting, but important. It was good to say goodbye. It was good to see friends, and to realize how much love was around. I'm thoroughly exhausted from the trip though.
I got to spend a great deal of time with Beth...that was wonderful. I'm terribly sad that she's moving back up north, but I'm glad at the same time; she'll be happy and has a wonderful new job. And perhaps I'll be back up there in a few years for even more school.
My mom is incredibly thoughtful. I got an e-mail from her today asking how I was doing and if yesterday was awful. And I got a gift from her too.
I ended up taking today off to sleep...slept something like 16 hours. My temperature is up again. This is incredibly frustrating since I did have a few days of feeling really good last week. I was going to put off calling for a few days...end of the week. Now I'm not so sure.
But...because I took today off, watch me have to deal with an irate boss tomorrow. Why? Because she didn't prepare. She knew I was possibly taking today off. That was made clear on Friday. But she left two messages on my answering machine (which I slept through) asking for some supplies from me...which were on the bookshelf in my office. Leaving one message, I understand. But to leave a second one, 20 minutes before she has to leave the office with the supplies says to me that she hasn't even looked. The stuff was in plain sight. You could practically see it from the moment you walked into my office.
I am incredibly amused by "Meet My Folks" on NBC. I'm not usually a fan of reality tv, but this is making me laugh.
It's late. I think bed is in order soon.

Date: 2002-07-23 06:10 am (UTC)Fairfax county school board is voting that night on whether or not to include sexual orientation in its non-discrimination policy. I'm turning up in support of it (as are a bunch of other people from my office, duh!) and I wanted to know if you wanted to come along. Meeting is at 7:30 at Luther Jackson Middle School (That's the one on Gallows Rd. right by Sweetwater)
And...perhaps food at Sweetwater after? It's been ages since I went there.
I can forward you the more detailed e-mail I have when I go to into the office this afternoon, after I'm at JDC.
