Layoffs have started. Two people have been given 30 days notice.

I would be in a lot more danger if I wasn't planning on leaving anyway.

I'm sad about it. At the same time, it's part of working in grant funded organizations...they cycle like this sometimes.

I still need to find a job in NJ, and I'm just not sure where to look.

It wasn't unexpected. That doesn't make it easier. And they're very good here about giving them time to look for other things. Still...it hurts. The CDC is funding no youth programs in the DC Metro area next year, AFAIK. And that's incredibly shortsighted, among other things.

The pinkeye appears gone-I still haven't put contacts in, but I'm recovered I think.

I have to decline lunch today-I head out to Herndon at 1:30 and really should be in the office.
